Destinations in Europe

This section covers our "mainland" Europe destinations. If you are thinking of going a bit further north, you might like to check out Scandinavia.

While we often hire a car and drive around when we are in USA or Canada, we have not tried to do that in Europe yet. Instead we have bought a Eurail pass (or one of the similar one-country rail passes) before leaving Australia. The rail system is so efficient and extensive that you can get around lots of major cities as well as out of the way places, without the hassle of worrying about parking, interpreting road signs in various languages or paying tolls. Try it!
