I put this Destination in the list to spur us on to do more travel around the islands to the east of Australia. So far, the only place we've been - and that was a long while ago - is to New Zealand. I guess even that doesn't count, because I think it is in the Tasman Sea, but I'll pop in a reference here - and hope to be able to mention some more legitimate "Pacific" destinations some time!

I will admit to having visited one other Destination in the Pacific - Fiji. But that was as a student. Two of my girlfriends and I spent 95% of our time lying on the sand on a little tiny island and the other 5% confined to the smallest room in the motel, with a horrendous bout of food poisoning, so it doesn't make for an informative travel guide! I didn't own a camera then either - thank goodness, judging by the snaps one of my friends took of us. What a sight!
